Ringtones

It ain’t easy finding good ringtones for a Blackberry. For whatever reason it’s far harder to buy ringtones for a Blackberry than it is for any other phone, including the iphpone.

I’ve uploaded a few songs to try to make them the ringtone, but there’;s a pretty severe size limitation on the files, and most every song I tried went over that limit.

Apparently, there used to be a Blackberry app that you could use to make your own ringtones, but it no longer exists.  And, as you probably already know, you can’t upload songs from iTunes because they’re not compatible.

After a bit of research I found a few sites that offer Blackberry ringtones. And, I’m not entirely sure if this is legal, but there’s a site called TuneUsIn that has a lot of free ringtone downloads.  Try them at your own risk.

Good luck.

one missed call ringtone

What exactly is the one missed call rington?  That’s what I wanted to for like forever okay!?  Well, if you’ve seen the movie the Japanese horror movie “One Missed Call”then ignore everything that follows and just go aherad and click on your cell carrier above.  If not, then here’s a small portion of schoolin’.

“One Missed Call” was pehaps the creepiest technoghost flick ever to come out of Japan.  Next to the Ring I don’t think there’s a movie with more hair-rasing creep to it than “One Missed Call.” Believe me, after you’ve seen this movie you’ll never want to pick up your phone again.

The premise is that if you miss the call you’re dead.  Neat, huh?

The one missed call ringtone sounds like a lullaby chime from one of those old jewelry cases.  Creep. E. dudes.

Still, you’re not totally hardcpore unles you’ve got the one missed call ringtoneon your phone. So c’mon.  Get it while it’s still hot.  Click your carrier above and get started now!

shut up ringtone

You haven’t really understood the pleasure of seeing someone get their ass handed to them until you’ve hear the hilarious shut up ringtonethat is offered across all of the major carriers.

The shut up ringtone is like no other in it’s unique ability to convince people that you are the cock of the walk when they hear the hilarious tone emanating from your mobular device. Ever heard a geey dork with a shut up rington?  Ever heard a  shut up ringtonecoming from a dweeb’s celly?  I thought not.  See, there you have it: this is the ringtone that seperates the boys 2 men. This is the ringtone that puts hair on your chest anbd grows testicles from your cheek.

The shut up rington: it’s what you want when you really really want. It’s ringtone spice, it’s awesome it’s neverending.

verizon ring back tones

It took me years to figure out what a verizon ring back tone was.  Granted, I’m a little slow when it comes to these newfangled Mobile technologies, but this one somehow, for no apparent reason, took FOREVER!

It was my sister finally schooled me. She had a Verizon phone at the time and I was all like “Yo Suz what’s a verizon ring back tone? and she was like “Yo it’s the song thsat plays when you be calling someone and you’re waiting for them to answer.” And I was all like “Ferreal?  I thought it was like you called somebody and they rang you back and that was a verizon ring back tone.” and she was all like “Yo you’re a doofus.” An it was true.  But why “ring back?”  The phone does not ring me back, or ring you back, does it? No.

I think they shoud drop the verizon ring back tones phrase for something a little more intuitive like Verizon custom tone or Verizon Call tone.  Yeah, I like it.  Verizon Call Tones.  Get ‘em while they’re hot. ;)

ringer downloads

The wonderful thing about ringer downloads has got to be the selection.  It’s got to be the coolest feeling in the world (or at least the second coolest ;) to hear a song I love and to go to my computer and type in prince-of-ringtones.com and enter my cell number and the type in the name of the song I love and find the ringer download for that song is available already.

I don’t think I’ve had one time where I’ve had a song I was dying to put on my ringer that I couldn’t download.  Not once! Ya gotta hand it to the ringtone industry that they are right on it when it comes to ringer downloads for the latest songs.

I don’t want to go too far here though.  I’m sure it’s been done. I’m sure someone out there has heard the song of their dreams, gone to the prince, and not been able to find it.  Woe the hungry seeker who cannot find that ringer downloadwhen the fiend is fiercest.  Woe more to him that gets in his or her way. Get samsung ringer downloads here.

free sprint ringer downloads

I’ve been to a few sites lately that offer free spring ringer downloads and I have yto admit I’m more than a little disappointed ot find out that I was, once again, bamboozled.

Free sprint ringer downloads turn out to be yet another term applied to sprint ringer downloads that will cost you, in form or another.  My [least] favorite trick is where they offer a free sprint ringer download, andget you to enter your cell number, and you get a text, and the text says that charges apply.  Like somehow getting you off of their site and having the download or text charge applied there after the fact makes it “free.”

Let me say this again: there is no such thing as free sprint ringer downloads. There is no such thing as a free lunch either.  You pay for what you eat just as you pay for what you hear on your phone.

Arrested Development Ringtone

arrested development

I’m not a huge TV fan.  In fact, I don’t own TV, and only subscribe to cable for their “blazing fast Internet.” Ahem.

But I rent a fair amount of DVDs and watch them on a screen through my projector.  It’s pretty cool to have a huge screen that doesn’t take up a single inch of floor space (I’ve hung it from my ceiling).  But this isn’t a toot-la-toot about my viewing habits.  It’s a peaen to the most brilliant sitcom ever to grace mainstream TV: Arrested Development.

The show is overflowing with hilarious wordplay clipping by at breakneck speed, and the characters are classic. Plus the beautiful Portia DeRossi stars as the sister. It’s Portia’s character that has the Arrested Development theme song as her ringtone, and it’s this ringtone I’m dead set on getting for my phone. There’s a site out there that has the ringtone available for download for free, but unfortunately, Verizon doesn’t offer it. Sniff.  I’ll have to send it to the missus, and enjoy it from there.

More on the Free Ringtone Controversy

A lot of folks are peeved at the ringtone industry at the moment. I think a lot of the ringtone providers started out overpromising and then under-delivered.  Many complaints make it seem like the provders were deliberately deceiving customers, promising free ringtones and then hitting folks with a nasty subscription fee.

I don’t believe this is true.

Let me clarify: I do think that many subscribers were misled into thinking the ringtones were free.  But I don’t think that the ringtone providers were the ones promising them for free.  Rather it was the affiliates and marketers who plastered the words “free ringtones” on every ad and on every web page they used to sell the subscriptions that garnered them a commission.

The providers ultimately banned ther word “free” from their affiliates marketing material, and what they appear guilty of, in my opinion, is slow motion: they should have gotten on the ball earlier.

Free Verizon Ringtones: Don’t Believe the Hype

There’s a lot of hype out there about free verizon ringtones, completeky free veriuzon ringtones, etc.  We’re here to tell you this: Don’t believe the hype. There is no such thing as a free verizon ringtone and anyone promizing you otherwse is lying.  Ringtones for Verizon phones, like ringtones for T-Mobile, Nextel, and every other carier out there, add value and richness to an otherwise bland device for a modest price.

What we love about ringtones for Verizon phones is that they add a certain panache, lend a certain I don’t know what to that clunky ugly box that you’re talking to your friends through.  I know, I know, they try ever so hard to make cell phones sexy, and they get better at it very year, but admit it, it’s a little plastic box made in China, with buttons and a speaker.

Admit this too: now that you have a verizon phone you’re never out of contact with your peeps and/or homies, but wouldn’t your life would be a whole lot better without all the dropped calls and furry reception conversations?  Can you hear me now.  Can you hear me now. NO!  I CANNOT HEAR YOU!!

But that’s a minor point.  Ringtones for Verizon phones more than make up for any inadequacies in the quality of service — and don’t think b/c I’m ragging on Verizon here doesn’t mean I don’t love ‘em: I was with Sprint for 10 years before I switched — and boy am I happy I did it.
